A writer before perusing art as a career, Clark talks about her transition from words to images “words fell away and my brain shifted from language to the visual. Images became my obsession. Printing images, cutting them apart, and then putting them back together again with scissors and paste… here I could find beauty in pain and bring the dead back to life.”
Her detail rich pieces called for a site that was elegant and serve as a simple backdrop to the intricacies of her work.

Ethel Gittlin is a contemporary American artist whose work has been exhibited internationally and nationally in numerous galleries. Her work has explored different styles and mediums through her art career, including oils and oils/photography; from abstraction to semi-realism and back to abstraction.
Our goal was to create a site where each series was given room to be enjoyed individually and simultaneously appreciated in it’s entirety as the journey of her artistic explorations.
Check out Ethel Gittlin’s work and upcoming shows at ethelgittlin.com.
